All the make up, the clothes, the accessories, the unnecessary; we're okay with it, we're happy with it because it's about us. It makes us vain, selfish, greedy.
Make up - masking up - may as well contain the same amount of dopamine for the brain as Coca Cola provides in sugar for the body. A temporary fix. A little boost which then decreases as suddenly as it arrived and leaves us once again not feeling good enough.
'Their life lacked substance. They became unhappy and fought with each other. She filled their lives with belongings and said "if you look good you feel good". They were happy because it was about them. She made it about them. She made them selfish. Their plastic smiles plastered on their plastic faces. She drew pictures of what they should look like and then they were unhappy that they didn't. Even though the pictures weren't real.'
People use the mask as a way of expression, but it makes us different. It makes one look down their nose at another for the clothes they wear or the way they look. Since when did that become so important?
